I just got an email from my South African friend Jason Carter. He got engaged this week, so congratulations mate! This is what he sent:
In 1981:

Prince Charles got married
Liverpool crowned soccer Champions of Europe
Australia lost the Ashes tournament
The Pope Died

In 2005:

Prince Charles got married
Liverpool crowned soccer Champions of Europe
Australia lost the Ashes tournament
The Pope Died

Lesson Learned? - the next time Charles gets married, someone warn the Pope!
