Just a quick note to say that I’m off to Eastbourne this afternoon with my colleague Pippa for this year’s Youthwork The Conference. We’ve had a great time the last 2 years, so am looking forward to listening, thinking and catching up with fellow bloggers.

Browsing the excellent Infed website today, I came across the History of Youth and Community Work Study Conference taking place early next year. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the name, the conference is an opportunity to explore the historical development of youth and community work.

This is a great speech from Dave Sharples who set up Kidz Klub out of Frontline church in Liverpool. Given the platform at the recent conservative conference, he stirs up the audience with his message of hope and a passionate plea for a recognition of community-based workers rather than bureaucratic policies.
