The fashion Police are coming

I read earlier in the week on ysmarko about various laws being passed across the US to ban baggy trousers that show off people’s underwear.
Last week, Atlanta became one of the largest cities to join a growing movement in the U.S. to consider fining or jailing people for saggy pants. The Atlanta City Council [...]

Chart: Who Participates And What People Are Doing Online

This is an interesting chart about what type of interaction Americans have online such as content creators, joiners (of social networks), spectators etc. Because it’s categorised by age, you can see how different generations use the web. I would imagine that it’s similar for the UK.
I’m interested that I’m (just) categorised as Gen X and [...]

Good Vibrations

An interesting article in USA Today about ‘Phantom Vibration Syndrome’ - when you think your mobile is buzzing in your pocket only to find out it wasn’t! If you’re like me and always keep your mobile in the same pocket, you may have experienced this “habit of the brain”.
“When we learn to respond to a [...]

Crummy Church Signs

I found this blog referenced on Think Christian and amused myself for a while enjoying the some of the awful signs found outside (mainly American) churches. Sadly though I found a link to this sign on flickr which outlines some of the narrow-mindedness of some Christian churches.
From the photographer:
Jesus made it his mission to serve [...]

Funny stuff

It’s been a bit quiet on this blog of late and I’ve got a lot of thoughts to post at some point. I’ve been here for the last 24 hours along with Sim, Billy and Brian among others (who have already posted the highlights). In the meantime, enjoy this great phone call:

London Bank Holiday

I love long weekends! It’s Kirsty’s birthday tomorrow and we’re heading into London later today to spend the weekend doing touristy things. We’ve booked to go see the new Antony Gormley exhibition at the hayward which I’m really excited about. I’ll try to take some pictures and post them to flickr while we’re there. We’re [...]

Your Identity in Photos

Rosie has challenged people to sum up their identity in just four photos from their library. I found this pretty tricky and i guess my choices would change over time. I’m not going to explain each one, so take them as you like:

So, what photos would you use? Pete, Dave, Dan, Ruth, Kirsty, Mark, Sam, [...]

Mobile Blogging

I’ve added a couple of wordpress plugins to this site today that relate to blogging and browsing on the move.
WP-Cron works with a pop3 email account (and the built-in wordpress functions) to post any emails it recieves straight to the site. This means I can write a post on my phone and email it to [...]

What a Great Name

Now at the risk of sounding purile, I just couldn’t resist posting this article.
Heard better? Post below (and keep it clean)!
Maybe I’ll get back to some more serious youth work related posts soon.
