...and possibly a New Celebrity Jesus Christ Soap-star Superstar Strictly on Ice! Brilliant TV from Peter Kay tonight with a highly amusing satire of the various TV Talent Competitions. My favourite part was the absolutely inspired medley from Geraldine. Enjoy! ...

Best of 2007

Happy New Year! This time last year I posted my favourite stuff of 2006, and there's already been a whole slew of bloggers doing the same thing for 2007. So to jump on the bandwagon, here's my top 3 of everything... Books Although I've read quite a few books this year, most of them have been around a while and are nothing new, so these 3 are the ones that have influenced me most this year. Contemplative Youth Ministry: I found this a really ...

London Ink

On our way home from the Blog Awards, Kirsty and I saw this great installation at London Victoria Station. It's purpose is to promote the TV Show 'London Ink' on Discovery Real Time and the oversize sculpture features an original tattoo on the small of her back. Sky+

It's been a busy few weeks around here what with various weddings, kids playschemes and things. I've not really had much time to post here so apologies to regular readers! Luckily we got Sky+ a few weeks back (due to not being able to get Freeview in this area) and even though we've not been in much, I've still been able to catch up with Grand Designs and Heroes. In fact pausing live TV and recording a series with 1-click has really changed my viewing ...

Weather Girl

Watching the end of the news on TV tonight, I was struck by how much the ITV weather girl's hair looks like it was cut straight out of an anime cartoon! While searching the web trying to find an appropriate photo to prove my point, I discovered that someone has already noticed the similarity and pointed it out on their blog! Oh well, can't be original all the time. ...

Lookalike?

Two times in my life I have been told that I look a bit like Jamie Oliver... both were this week by people totally unconnected to each other! Jamie Oliver: Jon Jolly: It's got to be something to do with the fact that my hair's grown out a bit because I actually look nothing like the bloke! Still, it's a reasonable compliment. ...

The Secret Millionaire

View Comments
Last night Kirsty and I watched an interesting show on Channel 4 (Wednesdays, 9pm) where a millionaire goes under cover in a tough deprived area to find a worthy cause that would benefit from their money. This first one showed a 25 year old self made millionaire Ben spending 10 days in Hackney, East London. The show raised a lot of questions (at least in my mind) about the benefit that such a donation could make in areas of deprivation. How can you ...

8 Out Of 10 Cats

I was watching a bit of TV at home on Friday night and found myself laughing out loud at Nikki Graham of Big Brother fame on 8 Out Of 10 Cats. Famous for being both spoilt and self-obsessed, the bleached blonde embarrassed herself admirably in the first 10 minutes by not knowing Heather Mills-Macartney only has one leg, not having a clue who Stephen Hawking is, and not realising the former home secretary David Blunket is blind. The other contestants had a ...

Romance Academy

Following the excellent BBC2 Documentary "No Sex please, we're teenagers!", which followed 12 teenagers who took a 5 month abstinence vow, the Romance Academy has enjoyed a lot of positive press coverage. It looks like they are now planning to expand their programme outside of London, so let's hope something similar finds it's way to Littlehampton. Many of the teenagers I work with were enthralled by the show which prompted some positive conversations ...
