I posted last week about Barnardo’s Children In Trouble Campaign. I’ve since had various discussions with people who feel that whilst the sentiment of the campaign is great, the shock tactics could perhaps have been better replaced by actually showing young people in a positive light. MAS posted his response here and later updated it to include this fantastic video from a mystery group which turned out to be the RNLI!
Why did we open the channels for young people to tell the truth about who they really are? Quite simply, 470 of the RNLI’s volunteers are aged between 17 and 22. Every day, they’re willing to risk their lives to save the lives of others. They’ll tell you they don’t do it for money or for fame, but simply because it has to be done.
