My apologies for the lack of posts recently. I don’t have a good excuse. We took a family holiday to Mallorca and I forgot to schedule things to go live while we were away. I hate it when blogs that I read just go quiet for a few weeks, so for any readers still out there: Sorry!
There are plenty more posts lined up for the near future including new magazine articles, and teaching sessions for church youth groups. There was also a request in one of the comments to develop the 5 part Acts series so I’ll see if can get onto that at some point.
Life is a bit busy generally, but has got a little more crazy with a change of leadership at Arun Community Church where I work. There’s an ongoing transition happening which will really get going in September. We’re getting a new logo and branding, and I’m working on pulling together content for a shiny new church website too. In addition the Academy school where we meet is getting a full rebuild in the next 2 years and the proposed plans give the church even better meeting facilities than we have now (as a church we do own two other premises but these are not big enough for the church congregation to meet in).
As part of this reshaping, I’m joining the leadership team and taking on full responsibility for the strategic development of the children’s & youth work. Part of that process is pulling out of personally running many groups and building teams of volunteers to sustain it – no small task! Oh, and we secured 3 years of Children In Need funding towards Launch Pad our FREE breakfast club for local children. Match funding is being provided by a local private donation.
All this is on top of the usual clubs, activities, assemblies, meetings, fundraising, planning, prayer, etc. so I’m trying to make sure I get it all done!
