I’m currently away on our church Children’s weekend retreat at Dalesdown, a Christian activity centre in West Sussex. We’ve got Jon Bonner leading our group times and he’s doing a fantastic job of engaging them creatively. Although the weather could have been better, we’ve managed to avoid most of the floods and havoc caused by the downpour and were even able to get outside for football.
My role for these few days is to get to know the year 6 students about to make the transition to secondary school and to offer some practical support. We had a good laugh this morning describing ourselves as animals and we’ve learnt quite a bit about each other already. My favourite was the LioPuDu (Lion, Puppy, Duck hybrid animal). I look forward to continuing relationships with these young people over the next few years!

Glad to hear you’re having fun.
I saw Jim Fenlon this evening, while racing round Heathrow, and he said it’d been good.
BTW. Can you change my blog URL to
