I’m currently sitting in a meeting room in the brand new Salmon Youth Centre, Bermondsey, London. It is an inspiring building purpose-built for youth work that incorporates a sports hall, dance studio, music room, art room, outdoor climbing wall, offices, apartments and various other dedicated facilities. For more information on the new centre, see this article.
Built with a variety of funding from Sport England, MyPlace, Local Authority Money, Housing Association and many others, Project Manager Mark Blundell worked tirelessly with the architects to get the centre that he wanted!
I don’t have time to write much here but I need to say how impressed I am – not just with the building, as much as with the ethos of the place and the sheer vision and dedication of the staff to pioneer and build it. If you get a chance, you should go take a look as it will inspire you!
